Mark Sanford: The Gift That Keeps On Giving!

I was going to write a fairly long post about the adventures of Mark Sanford, the South Carolina governor who abandoned his office and home, without any prior notice, for a sexcapade with his Argentinian mistress in Buenos Aires.

I was going to, but after watching The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Jon gave me the perfect quote.

It goes something like this: “Mark Sanford, another one of those politicians with a conservative brain and a liberal penis.”

Hypocrisy. HYPOCRISY.

Don’t even get me started about John Ensign, the Republican Senator from Nevada, who had an extramarital affair with his former aide’s wife but had no problem voting for the impeachment of Bill Clinton following the Monica Lewinsky scandal, based on “moral” grounds. Hypocrisy.

When it comes to hypocrisy … GOP … “Yeah, you know THEM”

US Gov’t learns that Democracy can be a Bitch! Ayatollah says “I MF’ing told you so, ya’ll!”

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad salutes crowd of supporters.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad salutes crowd of supporters.

This is certainly not what the US Government was expecting!

If Lebanon shuned Hezbollah, why wouldn’t Iran shun Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?

The “Obama Effect” as it was dubbed by newscasters from coast to coast apparently had ZERO effect in Iran’s election and all the provinces within its borders. In a country where the majority of the population is less than 30 years old, the Obama administration was certainly hoping his speech in Cairo would have a better impact. I guess not.

Ahmadinejad’s strongest contender, Mir Hossein Mousavi, whose policies were said to be less conservative, is claiming “fraud”. Numerous riots have already broken out in the streets of Tehran.

I can easily predict that this theory of “fraud” will be exponentially blown by the US media. Let me just say one thing if I may, after our elections in 2000, Bush v. Gore for the short term memory folks, the US should be the last country to gauge election frauds or tell another country how to run its voting system. Ok, maybe not last, but you get my point.

With a 62.6% vote majority, Ahmadinejad therefore remains the President of Iran. I can’t help but wonder who Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the religious leader of the country, voted for! What do you think?

I wish the best to the Iranian people.

How do you know who’s Indigenous to England? “you just look, you just know” … WTF!

Nick Griffin - Head of British National Party

Nick Griffin - welcomed with a healthy dose of freshly hatched eggs, but no shoes! :(

As some of you worldly educated people might know, the E.U. held its parliamentary election over last week-end. I was actually lucky enough to have follow this, well kind of, on British television.

For the first time ever, the far right British party known as the British National Party was able to win 2 seats. The BNP is headed by Nick Griffin, seen above being tossed freshly hatched eggs (Yumm) prompting him to abandon his victory speech.

When asked who could be a BNP member, Mr. Griffin said “people who are indigenous to this country”. The reporter then followed up asking Mr. Griffin how are these indigenous people recognized – ready for Mr. Griffin’s answer? – “you just look, you just know”! —— WHAT THE F…!

Hum … that would exclude about 1/3 of the England football squad.

I just hope no one in France ever comes out with a statement like that. Otherwise the French will lose their football team and would have to ship their 1998 World Cup trophy to Africa!

FYI … DIVERSITY is here to stay, some people like Mr. Griffin might as well start getting use to it.

Church of Scientology to buy California? Tom Cruise as Governor?

As you all know our beloved Golden State is in serious need of gold rocks (well make that cash)! With a $24.6 billion deficit, California’s credit score must certainly be worse than that of a black newborn! (Doh! Bruno this is your fault!)

Oh well …

I was watching, on Hulu of course, a past episode of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart which aired on 9 June 2009 on which John Hodgman proposed that we sold California to the Church of Scientology!

So I thought, “hum, what if this actually came to be?” – Unlikely? Perhaps – but Bush winning a second election was also unlikely! Okay, I admit that wasn’t a good comparison. :(

But seriously, what would become of California if owned and operated by The Church of Scientology, with Tom Cruise as the Governor?

What’s another option? Legalizing IT … you know, IT … Marijuana!

Legalize and Tax It? :)

I would love to hear your thoughts!

Right Wing Extremists – Out of Ideas, Turn to Killing Innocent People aka “Terrorism”

It was only 10 days ago when Dr. George Tiller got gunned down in a Wichita, Kansas  church (yes, in a church – how ironic huh?) by right wing “kookoo” Scott Roeder for performing LEGAL late term abortion.

Yesterday, another right wing “kookoo”, James Von Brunn, joined the long list of other right wing “kookoos” who have turned to domestic terrorism to draw attention to their otherwise pathetic and miserable lives, by killing two including a guard at the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC.

The Republican Party prides itself on national security, well unless it’s one of their who commits the acts of terrorism.

Now I’d like to hear Dick Cheney recommend that we torture Roeder and Von Brunn!

Band of hypocrites!

How To Torture Muslim Extremists (as a matter of fact any other extremist group)

Let’s agree on one thing. Muslim extremists or any other type of extremists are idealists. Correct?

Let’s agree on a second thing. An idea does not have a bleed, neither can it die by a gun shot to the head. Correct?

Let’s agree on a third thing. Torture “works”, meaning for every action of torture that takes place there is a reaction. Now, whether or not that reaction is “favorable” would have to be argued on a different post.

Tonight we will be focusing mainly on: How to torture Muslim extremists (or any other extremists)

I personally doubt that inflicting pain onto a human being as a means of gathering information is effective. I am against violence regardless of the cause or objectif.

The growing sentiment some people around the world have on Muslims is ill fated. However, I can understand how repugnant some of us can find their behavior, religions, or customs – mainly because of our ignorance.  There is no shame in acknowledging that we are ignorant towards Islam, just like there should be no shame for a practicing Muslim to acknowledge that although he or she might have memorized every single line in the Holy Qur’an, he or she doesn’t have a full grasp of the wisdom of its words.

This can be said with any other person of faith towards a holy book. These books are mostly left for interpretation and … “so deep the con of man.”

This lack of understanding or fear of acknowledging our intellectual limitations and falling prey to miscontrusion and false prophecy is what a handfull of Muslim Extremists leaders, like Osama Bin Laden, have tapped into to recruit an army against the “West”. That, added to the West constant failure to give the Middle East its chance to truly prosper for the benefits of its sons and daughters, and not just treat it as piece of land to be exploited for capital gains – like Africa – has also fueled the “Anti-West” propaganda.

When pushed, we can only take so much before we start pushing back. It is human behavior at its simplest.

Do we really believe that these young men and women blow themselves up because they are promised a harem in heaven? I think the only reason why someone would give up his life is when he/she has come to the conclusion that his/her death will carry a greater cause than staying alive. That is what we have and are still failing to understand.

Yet, we go around the world, blinded by our ignorance and false sense of superiority, torturing people we do not understand for reasons that at the best can be called lies. Is this who we are? Collateral damage?

So how do you torture a Muslim extremist? Here are four simple ingredients.

Respect + Compassion + Genuine Intellectual Curiosity + Love

Go torture as many Muslims Extremists as you can, you might even feel good about it.

Sen. Gregg withdraws nomination as Secretary of Commerce: “I’ve been my own person …”

Gregg is selfish! He says he wants to be his own man and can’t answer to someone else. This from a Senator! Well as a Senator Gregg you answer to the People, and the People voted for President Obama. That’s simple math: if A = B and B = C then A = C! (Thanks Samy!)

You show the true color of Republicans, just plain old selfish! Why are you in a public office if you want to be your own man?

Good riddance if you ask me!

ICELAND is melting!

Who would have thought? Certainly not me.

It’s 2009 and we are witnessing an entire economy, government, well, more like a country collapse. Iceland’s Prime Minister Geir Haarde resigned today stating that he can no longer lead the coalition. Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, the President, is expected to remain in office.

As I understand it, Iceland financial institution which grew exponentially in the past recent years had heavily invested into the US financial market. Now like a bad suburban mortgage but at a national level, Iceland now owes more than six times the country’s output!

Talk about depreciating value!

Here we go again as Americans and the greed that consumes us. We have lost all sense of community and responsibility. What happened to “I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper”?

The phrase “American Dream” which was meant as a source of inspiration so we would become the best nation in this world has been used by greedy fools to take advantage of us and the rest of the world to their own interest! They have turned us into consumer driven zombies and convinced us that our worth can or should only be judged by the material possession we acquire. I am also a victim. To those of you who are not I certainly applaud you.

But what a shame? What a shame, I say. But we’ve only got ourselves to blame.

Stay Strong.

Citi fires 10,000 employees and buys $50 million “plush” corporate jet!

NY Times reported today that Citi Group just acquired a brand spanking new $50 million corporate jet to add to their fleet of two “old” jets!

This is after Citi received billions from the bail out, fired 10,000 employees as a way of keeping cost down, and hiked up interest rates of many cardholders, including me, due to “tough economic times”.

I feel like slapping myself!

That’s our tax money at work!

Either way the taxpayer is always the one who’s getting fucked!

Why is the Human Rights Campaign upset at Obama?

A friend of mine forwarded me  a newsletter sent to her by the Human Rights Campaign supporting the LGBT outrage towards Barack Obama when he selected Rev. Rick Warren to five the invocation at the Presidential inauguration. Rev. Rick Warren is a leader of the religious right and a strong supporter of Proposition 8, which repealed the right of CA gays and lesbians to get married.

But why is the HRC upset at Obama? I am afraid many people voted for change not really knowing what it meant.

To make this easy, I am pasting below word for word my response to my friend.

Subject: RE: Urgent: Ask Obama to make good on his promise!

Ha! Very interesting topic. I voted against prop 8, and was devastated when I saw that it passed in California, of all states! However, I realize that not everybody is like me in America and the challenge of a president is not to be the president of your party but of the entire country whether or not people share your views. We know this wasn’t the case with Bush that’s really why people are enraged about this story. But if Obama’s actions are only to please us, his supporters, how different is he then from Bush? We wanted, needed and voted for change. Well change sometimes means that we can’t slap back someone who has slapped us.
